Static control is important to prevent shocks to operators and ignitions of flammable solvents. While NFPA 77, the national standard for static control, offers good advice, the state of the art (SOTA) has advanced greatly in the last 20 year. Our national standard static control is reviewed and today's SOTA static control is presented.
