Roll alignment procedures no longer require lengthy shutdown periods to restore machine health and maximize production. Previously, what would take an alignment crew multiples days or weeks to complete, now can be done in a few hours with the PARALIGN roll alignment technology. The number of machines designed with little to no line-of-sight leaves the door of opportunity open for the PARALIGN technology to penetrate the market and counteract the limitations of traditional optical alignment. Blown film lines are just one kind of manufacturing machine that suffers from alignment restrictions due to elevation, location, and proximity constraints. During a recent visit to a blown film facility, PRUFTECHNIK’s alignment crew utilized the PARALIGN roll alignment technology to measure over fifty rolls located in a film tower in ninety minutes. Over the course of five hours, twenty-one rolls were adjusted to correct a majority of the misalignment found in the tower. Proper alignment of rolls generates higher production speeds, better product quality, and reduced downtime from unwanted failures.
