DUNMORE Certified to the New International Quality Management Standard ISO 9001:2015

DUNMORE has recently transitioned to the most current ISO 9001:2015 standard at all three of its facilities. Since 2001, DUNMORE has utilized the internationally recognized quality management system and certification under ISO 9001 standards. ISO registration is the most widely used international quality standard. It provides the framework to ensure the highest level of quality and drives better results for our customers. TÜV SÜD America is the certification provider for the 2 locations in the USA, and TÜV Nord is the certifier for the location in Germany (  

The new certification process began over 2 year ago starting with the leadership group in the organization. Under ISO 9001:2015 there is a greater emphasis on taking a strategic, organizational approach to the company’s quality management systems. Having the full support from the leadership team ensured the whole organization was aligned with the changes that needed to take place.

As the organization progressed through the planning and implementation phase, DUNMORE learned more about the strengths of the system and areas that needed to be improved. There were two major shifts in the new standard that DUNMORE had to address. Risk based thinking became a priority under the new ISO certification, which was already an ongoing priority for the organization. DUNMORE learned a long time ago the need to put organizational risk management processes in place to ensure customer satisfaction and business sustainability.

Changes were made to the continuous improvement processes to increase organizational awareness. Greater organizational awareness is critical to make sure employees are working on areas that have the highest positive impact on customer satisfaction and business growth. Since customers are the lifeblood of any organization, this was the second point of emphasis during the transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015. With the upgraded systems in place, DUNMORE’s manufacturing processes are producing higher quality materials. Other process improvements in the quality management system has improved DUNMORE’s response to new demanding requirements, which will provide better outcomes for both DUNMORE and its customers.
